— WHAT WE OFFER
Our fencing specialisations
Picket Fencing
Nothing creates that classic look quite like a picket fence. We can adapt the style to suit traditional and more modern homes, adding kerb appeal to any property. We work with quality timber to deliver a clean, consistent result — every detail carefully considered to best complement your home.
Emu Wire Fencing
Emu wire fencing offers a more open aesthetic while still maintaining a level of fine detail. Perfectly suited to cottage style and heavily planted gardens, creating a strong, secure boundary while leaving your garden on full display. We are one of only a handful of contractors in the region officially endorsed by Emu Wire Industries and take pride in delivering results that are second to none.
Federation Style Joinery Gates
A well-crafted gate should make a statement, serve its purpose well and stand the test of time. We design and build custom timber joinery gates to complement your fencing and the character of your home. Sliding or hinged, single or double, all with automation options available — built with traditional joinery methods, quality timber and the right hardware to last for decades.

— FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Fencing questions answered
-
Federation style picket fencing is a traditional Australian fencing style that became popular during the federation era at the turn of the twentieth century. It is characterised by evenly spaced timber pickets with decorative pointed or shaped tops, mounted on horizontal rails between timber posts. It suits period homes beautifully and adds genuine kerb appeal to any property.
-
"Emu wire fencing combines a woven wire mesh infill with timber rails and posts to create a fence that is as beautiful as it is practical. The open design lets light and greenery through while still providing a secure boundary. A genuinely elegant alternative to solid fencing.
-
In most cases, standard boundary fencing does not require council approval, but this can depend on your specific property, its zoning and the height of the proposed fence. Heritage-listed properties may have additional requirements. We recommend checking with your local council before work begins, and we are happy to provide specifications to support any application if needed.
-
Yes. If you are extending an existing fence or replacing a section, we will do our best to match the style, profile, spacing and timber species of what is already there. Kent will assess the existing fence during the site visit and advise on the best approach to achieve a consistent result.
-
We typically work with treated pine for the structural components and dress timber for the pickets and rails, depending on the look you are after. For heritage properties we can also source hardwood pickets to better match original materials. Kent will talk through the options during the consultation.
-
Yes. We design and build custom federation style joinery gates to suit your fencing and your home. Gates can be hinged or sliding, single or double leaf, and built to whatever width your driveway or entrance requires. All gates are built with quality joinery and the right hardware to ensure they operate smoothly and last for many years.
